Description:
Wild Mountain Tea is a specialty of the province of Anhui. It is produced from wild tea plants growing on the high, sunlit slopes where individual tea plants cling to the rocks. The producers claim that it is a green tea; but there are reasons to believe that the plants are of the type Camelia sinensis and they are processed in the way of white tea.

The harvest starts from the top, where the pickers are let down to the bushes attached to ropes. Through the direct exposure to the sun and the indirect heat from the rock, the tea develops a wild and intense aroma of sap and a strong mineral note. The leaves are irregular, the buds are slightly wood-like and the colour is dark brown. All of this is a result of the wild growth, the great amount of sun and the reflection by the warm rock.
Character:
Smells like forest, resin and wildly grown herbs. The amber liquor also shows the wild and resinous notes, yet it is really mellow and slightly sweet. A highly original, special, and truly unique tea.
