Description:
Exquisite quality of an original Dong Ding of the 2009 harvest. Beautifully rolled into small balls. Roasted above charcoal.

Dongding is the name of a mountain where tea has been produced since approximately 1850. The gardens are situated at an altitude of approximately 800 meters and are thus not considered High Mountain Teas. Nonetheless, the climate is very well suited for growing teas of excellent quality: often sunny in the morning, foggy in the afternoon, and frequently windy.
Character:
The slightly spicy notes of this tea are married to gentle roast aromas and the tea develops an extraordinarily fruity bouquet, well beyond the very first sip.
Category:
Kugelblatt-Oolong (Quan Qiu Xing)
Storage:
This tea was produced in a relatively green manner, but sufficienty oxidised and then roasted. It was aged for years, which initiated a spontaneous fermentation. This tea can further be aged.
