Description:
The leaf shape is similar to one of a redbud plant called Neolamarckia, Chinese Tuanshu or Tuanhua - hence Tuanshuye, Neolamarckia leaf. The leaves are dark brown, the scent carries honey sweetness and the typical mossy smell of old tea trees. Very little is harvested from these 110-year-old bushes each year. The 260-year-old mother tree stands at 800 metres above sea level near the village of Yahou and died in 2006 due to termites and woodworms.
Character:
A tea of juicy richness; roasted, spicy, sweet, quite delicate, suddenly full-bodied, tropical, fragrant wood, forest and juicy fruit, then elegant again, delicate, floral scent, down to the earth, the undergrowth, the root. Truly unforgettable.
Category:
Phoenix Single Bush (Feng Huang Dan Cong)
Storage:
This tea was heavily oxidized, roasted. He was aged for years, which initiated a spontaneous fermentation. This tea can further be aged.
